Ideally, the work leading to the production of this show will take place in a multidisciplinary context, including Earth and Life Sciences, History and Geography, Plastic Arts, Music, and English ... The chosen theme should involve recognized environmental changes that have an impact on our oceans and on our societies. The key message should be clearly demonstrated and based on ocean science facts and figures.

After developing an initial version of the stage plan, the staging of the play from an artistic point of view will be able to begin. You can either choose very elaborate puppets or simple figurines, the story can be accompanied by instruments or not, the main characters might speak French / English and / or be polyglots, there could be a narrator who will make the public travel …

The « mon océan & moi » team is already very eager to see your plays. We are busy preparing a little surprise for the winners. You can enter the contest by sending us a short video before the 12th of May 2016,  in accordance with the information mentioned in the le formulaire « mon ocean et moi : 2016 Shadow Play Contest » form. Your productions will then be evaluated by a committee according to two main criteria: (1) accuracy in the demonstration of scientific information and (2) creativity and "artistic effects". The multidisciplinary teamwork between teaching staff and students as well as educational aspects will also be considered.

All school classes / groups from kindergarten to high school and can take part in this international contest.
